How do you bring together deeply personal stories from multiple countries, languages, and contributors into one cohesive publication while preserving the integrity and spirit of each voice?

That was the challenge behind Living Ancestors, a multi-language publication developed through the Watawa wa Taa initiative in Nairobi, Kenya. The project was created to document and celebrate the lives, leadership, and lived experiences of Catholic Sisters serving communities across Africa.

Dreamcolor Creative Studio supported the publication process across multiple editions, helping shape a large collection of stories into an organized, accessible, and visually consistent reading experience.

The work involved coordinating across contributors, translators, and evolving materials while preparing English and French editions of the publication. Each version required careful attention to visual aesthetic, layout flow, readability, and overall cohesion, particularly as translated text expanded or shifted across languages.

Our role included publication coordination, content organization, layout development, formatting support, preparation for print and digital distribution, and the creation of web-based flipbooks designed to improve accessibility and ease of sharing across devices and regions.

The final publication now exists across multiple language editions and formats, helping preserve and share the stories of women religious whose faith, leadership, and service continue to shape communities across Africa and the broader diaspora.
